As part of our participation in the Indiana Choice Scholarships program, ILEARN is the required end-of-the-school-year test students take beginning in third grade.
The Indiana Department of Education will use the ILEARN scores to calculate our school's accountability grade. Also, staff and teachers at BTCS look at the results for signs of student growth and to identify weaknesses for improvement efforts.
As part of our participation in the Indiana Choice Scholarships school program, IREAD-3 is a required annual test the students take in third grade to measure reading proficiency.
A passing score on IREAD-3 shows that a student is ready to move from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." If a student does not pass, BTCS will provide extra reading instruction and re-test the student.
As part of being accredited through the American Association of Christian Schools, we are encouraged to assess the students by way of achievement testing using the Iowa Assessments and Cognitive Abilities Tests. Students in grades K5 through six take the paper-based tests.
Staff and teachers at BTCS look at the results to measure student growth and curriculum effectiveness.
